Latest Updates from Our Project:

May Update - Manufacturing Progress and Woes
6 months ago – Fri, May 31, 2024 at 08:09:13 AM

Greetings, gamers! We've got a couple of things to get into today. Some good and some not-so-good. But, as we said from the beginning, we will always try to be up front and honest with you about the state of the project.

Molds Damaged

First let's start with the not-so-good. Originally we thought this project was going to be very quick and easy to put into print because the molds for the miniatures were already complete. However, at the beginning of the month, our manufacturer informed us that the molds sat around for too long. As such, they have some minor damage that needs to be repaired. They sent us these images to show the imperfections that crept in over time.

This is not a major issue, because the molds can be repaired. So they do not need to be rebuilt from scratch. However it does mean that they are not ready to hit print on the miniatures. We worked out the details with them, and the repairs have been started.

So what does this mean for you? Well, it unfortunately will introduce a bit of a delay to the project. This will probably add about 2 months of a delay to make sure that everything is good to go. This likely puts our delivery date closer to the September time frame than what we originally expected. We know that delays suck, but it can't be helped. Sadly, this also means we won't have the game at Gen Con, which we were hoping for. But, if all goes well, we should have the manufacturer's proof copy if you are heading there and want to see it in person! Fingers crossed!

Insert Upgrade

One of the things that we noticed in the comments was wanting to have a tray that could hold the miniatures, rather than have them free-floating like they were in the previous version of the game. We looked into it and worked with the manufacturer to come up with a solution. Allow me to show you what the new insert trays will look like! Check it out!

With these trays, each of your minis will have it's own special place in the box, and they won't rattle around every time you move it. It did require us to add a little bit to the box height to support the trays, but we think that is definitely a worthwhile sacrifice. We hope you like it!

Stay Groovy!

That's about it for now. We'll keep you updated on the timeline as soon as we know something more definitive and pass along any news we receive in the interim. Thank you again for your support, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

April Update - Manufacturing in Process
7 months ago – Tue, Apr 30, 2024 at 10:36:55 AM

Greetings, gamers!

We wanted to check in with you to give you our monthly update on the project. As a reminder, we're committed to providing monthly updates even if it is just to let you know everything is going according to plan.

Manufacturing Status

As we mentioned in the previous update, all files have been officially approved and handed over to the manufacturer. They have started the manufacturing process, and things are moving smoothly in that arena. We don't currently have a timeline for when the project will be complete, but pieces of the game are being made, starting with the miniatures. Hopefully, we will have some pictures to share with you in our next update for those who might be curious about the manufacturing process. For now, this is going as expected.

Tray Iterations

One of the things that we are working on with the manufacturer is the tray. This required some reworking since we are adding a bunch of components in the deluxe edition game that were not in the original base game box - we can't just reuse the old trays. We want to make sure our new trays work, help you set the game up quickly, and keep your components pristine. At a minimum, all of the miniatures except for the 28 generic Deadites will be in trays. We might need to bag the 28 generic deadites in a large empty well, but we're exploring options to have every mini in a nice tray without making the box dramatically larger. We should have this finalized soon.

Dice Bag Samples

Finally, speaking of images, we did have a couple that we wanted to share with you. These are the approved prototypes for the Bloody Dice Bag. We're really pleased with how the screen-printed blood splatter and embroidered lettering turned out, but we'll let you be the judge!

Embroidered logos always have a nice texture to them!
The lighting in this photo is a bit harsh, but you can see the whole piece of fabric that gets screen-printed, then folded in half to make the dice bag.

That's all for now. We'll continue to keep you updated on the status of the project and are excited to get all these groovy goodies out to you this year!

March Update - We've Got Walls!
8 months ago – Fri, Mar 29, 2024 at 06:16:19 AM

Greetings, gamers!

We wanted to drop in and provide you a quick update on the state of things.

Files at Licensor

All of the files for the game and all the various accessories have been completed and sent off to the licensor for final approval. They only requested some minor changes, so we anticipate the tail end of this process going smoothly. Once that is complete and they have given their final approval, we will send the files to the manufacturer. The miniatures were already approved, so that part of the manufacturing process has already begun.

Once everything gets into the manufacturing pipeline, we should be able to provide a more accurate estimate of when we anticipate the project to completely fulfill. Right now, we are still on track for our August deliverable date.

Cabin Walls

In the interim, here's a glimpse at the final artwork for the 3-D Cabin Walls.

During layout we found we had a little space left, so we added a set of 3 slot-together trees as well. The initial sketches provided during the campaign were placeholder art, not final. Now that we have these, how could we resist sharing?

Here are the front and back of the two punchboard sheets. Note that they fold in half to both reduce the number of pieces that need to be slotted together during assembly, but also so that they will fit in the box once they've been punched out.

Future Updates

Finally, we wanted to close with a note about future updates so you know what to expect. We are committed to providing you at least monthly updates on the state of the project, plus we'll be able to share more of the completed artwork.

We'll do this, even if the only news that we have to share is that everything is moving according to plan and on schedule. Obviously, we will share any relevant information as we have it, but we want to make sure you know what to expect from us moving forward. As frequent backers of campaigns ourselves, we know how frustrating silence can be.

That's about it for now! Thank you so much, and we're looking forward to getting this to your table!

Pledge Manager closes next week!
9 months ago – Sun, Feb 25, 2024 at 10:52:04 AM

Greetings, gamers!

We just wanted to drop in real quick to let you know that we have just a few days left before we will be closing the pledge manager. At that point, your orders will be locked and your cards will be charged. From there, we will be submitting our final order counts to China and starting the manufacturing process. We will keep you informed as best as we can along the way.

If for any reason, you aren't able to complete the pledge manager, please reach out to us at [email protected] directly. There will be a limited time frame where we can make manual updates as necessary.

Other Lynnvander Games

Also, if you haven't checked out the pledge manager recently, you should consider giving it another glance. We added several items from our Lynnvander store that, while not related to Evil Dead, are created by the same designers. This could be especially of interest to those of you in other countries who might have had trouble getting some of our games through distribution. Any games you order through the pledge manager will be bundled with your Evil Dead game, so you can save on shipping as well!

Thank you once again, and looking forward to taking the next steps!

BackerKit Surveys Sent!
10 months ago – Thu, Feb 01, 2024 at 11:18:21 AM

Greetings gamers!

BackerKit Updates

By now, you should have all received a BackerKit survey email inviting you to join BackerKit and finalize your pledge. If you have not received one of these emails, the first thing to do is to check your spam box. It might have been filtered there by mistake. If you still can't find a BackerKit survey, please reach out to us and let us know. If you don't complete your survey, we won't be able to ship you your rewards!

Similarly, if you have any issues with your pledge, please let us know. You can message us directly on Kickstarter, or email [email protected]

One of the most common questions that we have at this stage is "when are you closing the pledge manager?" Another common one is "when are you charging cards?" Our plan is to keep the BackerKit open through most of February. On February 28th we will lock orders and credit cards will be charged. At that point, you won't be able to change what is in your order. You will still be able to change your address for a bit by reaching out to us directly, but the orders will be locked in BackerKit. Once the orders are locked, cards should be charged shortly thereafter, so expect them to be charged on the last days of February.

Development Updates

Outside of BackerKit, we wanted to let you know that we are putting the final touches on the print files and sending those to our manufacturer in China. We will have those delivered so that our manufacturer can start building the sample as soon as they return after Chinese New Year. From there it is a matter of approving the sample, and starting up the machines for mass production. As always, we will strive to keep you informed each step of the way.
